Post Getting ready to start playing

I have a couple of questions about playing.
1. If I chose a roleplaying character can I still PvP with it eventually?
2. Is this game 100% online or is it both online and offline?
3. I am a casual player only getting a couple of hours a night and maybe 5 on weekends what would be a good class to be able to solo and work well in a group.
4. Thanks for all the help.

You can pvp with it later but don't do it.

You get better gear and such if you make a PvP character, and people will appreciate it.

When creating characters limit it to 3 RP slots and leave the last one for PvP. If you start PvP'ing you won't regret it.

It's so much nicer to be able to experiment with PvP than trying to fit one of the four slots into the mold you envision.

I want to be a ranger/necro with spinal shivers and see how it goes, just whip it out and try it out.

The great thing about PvP is the freedom to create any combo of classes and then within each class trying to find the perfect blend of skills and faction allocation.

Custom PvP-characters are definitely extremely valuable for experimentation.

However, I???m really quite baffled by people who say not to use PvE characters for PvPing. I do as well with my PvE as I do with my PvP characters. A Superior Vigor rune over a Major Vigor rune is not usually going to tip the battle. It may sometimes, but hardly ever.

To the OP: If you feel like taking your PvE character into arena, by all means do it.

(And if the level 1-10 and 10-15 arenas weren't broken, that would be a super place to start and try it out!)

People say to make a pvp char for the fact that you can instantly remake it to fit your party's need, rather than take a week to make a new pve char. Also you get all your max armor, weapons, shields, offhands, staffs, upgrades, runes for free in pvp as u unlock them with pve char/faction rather than spend that 100k on a sup absorb

1. Yes, just explore to find the arenas to PVP in.
2. 100% online.
3. Solo: W/Mo, or any variation of a monk so you can heal yourself. Group, I'd choose support if you wanna be a casual gamer, like a nuker/trapper ranger.
4. You're Welcome

No argument here.

Just pointing out, this person hasn't even started playing yet, has no guild yet, no party to fill a gap in yet, no faction yet. That it's not a sin to play PvP with a PvE character, you might as well start out with the character you are most comfortable with. Again, the 9 hitpoints between Major and Sup Vigor usually doesn???t tip the balance.
